All is flux, nothing is stationary.
- Heraclitus
This brilliant quote has such deep meaning and is so pertinent to situations in the world right now. 🌎
We, as humans, inject so much meaning into circumstances that just “are”, which creates unneeded stress in our lives.
We are each perceiving our own individual experiences through our thoughts and ideations and beliefs, all the while peering into everyone else’s experiences, judging them through these same filters.
We are human beings, not human doings, so why can’t we just sit back and observe (being) each other without having to judge others and spew harsh criticisms for their choices (doing)??!
We have become so divided that it is often unfathomable to me that we actually belong to the same species.
I won’t go into specifics because we all know the imaginary descriptive boundaries that we have conjured up to keep ourselves separate from one another.
We build invisible word walls to justify reigning in our castles on our moral high horses, looking down our noses at others for their wrongness in the way they are interpreting and acting upon THEIR individual life moments.
It is so sad to watch as daily we find more and more to quarrel about as opposed to finding more to love about our neighbors on this planet.
Not a one of us is perfect, and nobody waltzes through this life unscathed by regrets and bad choices and mistakes.
In the grand scheme of things, nothing that is happening currently will matter in a hundred or a thousand years.
Every single moment is passing through us and along comes another and another… to infinity ♾ but kindness will make life much more pleasant here, while we are passing these moments together.
I don’t know about you, but I like the sound of pleasant…
